Child injury prevention: Perspectives of families of children 0-4 years of age living in South Australian rural and remote communities and Kidsafe SA Inc. strategy to link with South Australian rural and remote communities

Preventable and unintentional child injuries and deaths in children 0-4 years of age in rural and remote communities is an important public health focus for injury prevention intervention. In 2008/2009 Kidsafe SA’s president Anne Johnson was selected as a participant in the Vodafone Australia Foundation’s World of Difference program 2008/2009, where she was funded to work for her favourite charity, Kidsafe SA, for 12 months. Anne’s work, during the 12 months, was focused on developing a strategy to link Kidsafe SA with rural and remote communities based on a statewide consultation with families of children 0-4 years of age and early childhood workers.
