Kidsafe SA is a supporter of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) and would like to help spread the word for ways in which the public can participate in WCHN services.
The Women’s & Children’s Health Network have now got a number of ways for you to be involved in making a difference to the care it provides its children, youth, women and families. Community can now provide input from the comfort of their home, through software to enable the voice of the consumer to be captured with ease.
The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) Consumer and Community Engagement Strategy and Responsiveness Plan for 2015-2018 was launched Wednesday 2 September.
The document marks a milestone in how the Network partners within consumers, and is the cornerstone for an overarching approach to improved clinical governance and service delivery.
The plan gives additional strength to the consumer voice and provides guidance about how consumers can be involved in their own care by partnering in the design and governance processes and helping to improve health literacy and health information.
The plan will be monitored by a new Consumer and Community Partnership Council that will be formed in November, and be actioned by four Person and Family Centred Care Groups, including a peak body for youth and a Consumer Jury, which will review safety and quality information.
The Consumer and Community Engagement Strategy and Responsiveness Plan is now available from the WCH website
