The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is currently undertaking a review of the consumer product recall system. It is a broad review and will consider a range of factors that influence recall effectiveness. The review is one element of a suite of product safety reforms approved by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG).
An integral part of this review will be collecting information from Australian and international regulators, consumers and businesses about their experiences in regards to product recalls. The ACCC has prepared two on-line questionnaires to seek feedback from those consumers and businesses who have not been directly approached. Those questionnaires will be available on the ACCC and Recalls Australia Website until the end of October - www.accc.gov.au and www.recalls.gov.au
